Lt.-Gen Roméo Dallaire is a former Senator and celebrated humanitarian. In 1993, Dallaire was appointed Force Commander for the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR), where he witnessed the country’s descent into chaos and genocide. His rescue of thousands as commander of a UN peacekeeping force and heartfelt message of humanity have made him a highly sought-after speaker. He is also a friend to UNBC and was awarded an Honourary Doctor of Laws Degree in 2013.

Lt.-Gen Dallaire was pleased to meet with numerous students while visiting Prince George as the keynote speaker at the 11th Annual Dr. Bob Ewert Lecture and Dinner.
