Presented by UNBC and the City of Prince George:
A Dialogue with the Governor General of Canada
Great things can happen when universities and cities work together.
The marking of UNBCs 25th Anniversary and the City of Prince George's centennial offered a perfect opportunity to imagine the future. A special conversation was held on March 2nd, 2015 on this topic featuring the Governor General of Canada, the Mayor of Prince George, and the President of UNBC at the Prince George Playhouse.
Prior to taking his post as the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston was the President of the University of Waterloo in Ontario. The University opened in 1957 with 74 students, and today has 35,000 students and more than 174,000 alumni. It has become famous for spawning a world-class high-tech sector and yet the University is located in a city not much larger than Prince George.
What might the future hold for us?
