Content Warning / Trigger Warning

This event will include discussions about the impacts of colonization, residential schools, systemic racism, and inter-generational trauma. These topics may be distressing or triggering for Survivors, families, and Indigenous community members, and may also be upsetting for non-Indigenous participants as we reflect on the truths of our shared history.

We encourage you to care for your well-being in whatever way feels right — whether that means taking breaks, stepping outside, or reaching out to available support resources.

Some resources available are:

  • The National Indian Residential School Crisis Line can be reached 24/7 at 1-866-925-4419 for emotional support and crisis referrals for former Residential School students and their families.
  •  The Hope for Wellness Help Line is available at 1-855-242-3310 or online at hopeforwellness.ca for immediate emotional support.
  • UNBC Counselling Services (for UNBC Students) : wellness@unbc.ca Room 5-168.
