Event summary
National Indigenous Peoples Day is celebrated on June 21st, the summer solstice, because it holds significant cultural and spiritual importance for many Indigenous peoples. The summer solstice, being the longest day of the year, is a time of renewal, connection, and celebration in many Indigenous cultures.
Join staff from the UNBC First Nations Centre and Office of Indigenous Initiatives as we join our community to recognize and celebrate our cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Indigenous peoples of Canada.
The event features Indigenous artisans, musicians, drummers, dancers, activities for all ages, food trucks and interactive information displays.
See you at the park!
Following the day at the park, take in the Rock The Knox NIPD After Party with Joel West & Misty Raine at the Knox Performance Centre at 1448 5th Avenue from 7pm-10pm
