This year’s event will feature:
• A keynote speech from Kaho Michihara
Bio
Kaho Michihara is a Master of Social Work (MSW) student at UNBC. As a person with visual impairment who values anti-
oppressive social work, she is passionate about addressing ableism facing people with disabilities. She is currently working on her thesis, exploring the impact of ableism on the mental health of young adults with visual impairments. She aims to work in a research field where she can contribute to challenging ableism and enhancing the mental health outcomes of people with disabilities as a researcher. Outside the school, she enjoys doing experiments with cooking, playing classical music on the piano, and reading Japanese books to stay connected to her home culture. She also likes crafting. Her recent favourite creation is a confetti made of 50 pieces of origami!
