As members of the Platform Party we recognize your support and contribution to UNBC, and invite you to share the achievements of our graduates during the annual Convocation. On stage, Platform Party members will be amongst representatives of government, communities, industry, donors, alumni, faculty, and the media during Convocation.
Platform Party members will be emailed and/or mailed an invitation, to participate in the Prince George ceremonies (CASHS and CSAM), prior to April.
Regional Campus Celebrations
The Regional campus celebrations are organized independently, so you may be contacted by either the Regional Programs Office or the individual campuses with specific invitations to their celebrations. To confirm attendance to any of these events, you must submit a completed RSVP form by Friday April 30, 2019. Please note: Email RSVPs will NOT be accepted.
Ceremony Instructions - Platform Party
Please report to the Wolf Den at the Northern Sports Centre (NSC) at least 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony (or ceremonies) that you are attending. A volunteer will be able to assist you with gowning and sign in once you arrive.
Refreshments and light snacks will be served all day and staff will be available for any assistance you may need.
The Platform Party will be lined up by the Registrar and will process last into the gymnasium:

Please remain standing once you arrive at your seat, and wait for instructions from the Chancellor or President.
After the ceremony please follow the Registrar for the recession back to the Wolf Den. If you are attending both ceremonies, the President's Office offers a light lunch and lounge area between ceremonies.
Ceremony Instructions - Platform Party (Faculty Department Chairs)
Please report to room 6-205/211 at least 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony (or ceremonies) that you are attending. A volunteer will be able to assist you with gowning and sign in once you arrive.
The Faculty Department Chairs (part of the Platform Party) will be lined up in front of the Faculty section, at the top of the ceremonial stairs. The Faculty Procession will follow the graduand processional lines all the way to the Northern Sport Centre. In the event of inclement weather, please report to the designated faculty gowning room in the basement of the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre to prepare for the procession.
Each Faculty section will be lead by a volunteer and will assist the break between the Faculty Department Chairs (stage seating) and Faculty (floor seating).
Schedule & Seating
Upon completion of your online RSVP, you will receive an itinerary via email. Please note, attendance to the Platform Party rehearsal is mandatory.
Platform Party members are requested to wear the specific regalia from their alma mater, or are allowed to wear traditional First Nation's regalia, law enforcement formal dress, Canadian Forces uniform, or governmental adornment. In lieu of personal regalia, the Convocation Office will provide you with a black gown, so please indicate this request on the RSVP form.
There is no secure storage space available at the NSC, so it is recommended that you leave personal items, such as purses and coats, in your office or vehicle.
All special guests are invited to join graduates, their family and friends, and the UNBC community for the Graduation Celebration in the Agora courtyard.
Parking at the NSC is reserved to the Platform Party and VIPs. You will receive a VIP parking pass with your itinerary, which should be displayed on your dashboard during Convocation day so it is visible to Traffic Control personnel.
