Nursing Teaching Associate / SLI II
Clara has been a nurse since 1985, working in various areas of nursing since that time. She continues to work on a casual basis in Home and Community Care in Quesnel Health Services.
She graduated with a diploma in nursing from CNC in 1984 and went on to complete a post diploma Baccalaureate in nursing from UNBC in 1999. She completed a Masters of Health Science from Deakin University in Australia in 2006.
Clara has been actively involved in instructing in the Health Sciences since 1987, having taught both for CNC and UNBC in the Care Aide, LPN and Diploma RN programs. Since 2007 she has been employed as a Nursing Teaching Associate in UNBC and teaches in the areas of community, nursing leadership, nursing knowledge and gerontology.
She continues to be actively involved in the Northern Health preceptorship program which develops practicing nursing for the role of preceptoring.
