Three service areas have been integrated under the umbrella of the Wellness Centre; Health Services, Counselling Services and Wellness Programs. Health Services is an essential component of any comprehensive wellness organization. The staff at Health Services are dedicated to the health and wellness of all students at UNBC. We understand how essential it is for students to maintain good physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social health in order to achieve maximum performance at university. We are committed to providing support for students around health issues; managing short and longer term challenges, developing and maintaining healthy lifestyles, and identifying complimentary health resources according to need. The Health Services staff are, also, very involved with other members of the UNBC Community in a series of initiatives around promotion of increased health and wellness.
Our goals, at Health Services, are to help UNBC students to:
1. manage short and longer term illnesses or health concerns.
2. obtain information on a variety of health, wellness and lifestyle topics.
3. gain a greater understanding of different lifestyles and strategies to initiate and manage lifestyle changes that contribute to health and well-being.
4. aid students in successful completion of their university process through support and promotion of wellness.
5. take part in community wide initiatives and events that promote a greater sense of wellness for the members of the university community.
