Prince George – The Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre (NSC) will close to the public and its members as of 1 p.m. today, July 10, 2017, and remain closed until further notice. The facility is being used as group lodging as part of Prince George’s response to wildfires affecting a large portion of the province.

The decision to close the facility to the public and members was made to ensure evacuees have a private, secure place in which they can rest and recover during a very trying time. The closure also allows other areas of the facility to be used to support evacuees as the situation unfolds.

The NSC will look at providing partial rebates to its membership, depending upon the duration of the closure.

The NSC and the University of Northern British Columbia thank its members and the public for their understanding, and conveys gratitude to everyone who is helping support those who have been displaced by this emergency situation.
