CANADIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER VISITS

Canada's High Commissioner to New Zealand will be visiting UNBC this Friday morning and speaking to an International Studies class about Canada's place in the world.

John Donaghy was born and raised in BC and has been with the foreign service since 1966. He has served in a number of divisions related to trade policy, trade negotiations, energy/natural resources issues and Canada's relations with Europe, the USA and Latin America. He was part of the negotiating team for the Canada/US Free Trade Agreement and is currently Chief Negotiator for the Canada/Singapore Free Trade Agreement negotiations. His position as High Commissioner to New Zealand also includes responsibility for Fiji, Samoa, the Kingdom of Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati.

He will be speaking at 10:30am in Room 8-166, located at the north end of the Teaching Laboratory.
