Houston
Houston is the eastern most community in the Northwest Region. With a population of roughly 4,000, the economy is largely centered on the local sawmill, with some retail sales and services and tourism operations in the area. School District 54 serves Houston as well as the other communities in the Bulkley Valley. Northwest Community College is a partner with the Morice Community Centre, offering local access through a mix of distance technology and local offerings. UNBC's web courses are accessible in Houston.
