The following list is illustrative of the programs that have been offered throughout northern BC. Individual programs have specific start dates and/or intermittent availability.
 

Master of Education
  • This degree has been offered throughout northern BC, in specific regions at a particular time for an identified group of students. Specializations have been offered in curriculum & instruction as well as a comprehensive program.
  • The program has been offered in Terrace, Burns Lake, Quesnel, Williams Lake and Fort St. John; with timetabling usually accommodating people who work full time.

Master of Arts - First Nations Studies
  • Its first offering has been in Terrace and consists of courses and research on aspects of First Nations culture and issues.

Master of Science - Community Health
  • First offered in the Northwest, and most recently in the Yukon, this program is particularly geared to health care professionals and administrators, and provides opportunities for students to research relevant health issues in the North.

Bachelor of Social Work
  • This program focuses on Social Work in northern and remote areas, aboriginal and cross cultural issues, women and human services, and community practice and research.
  • It has been offered in Quesnel, Terrace and Fort St. John / Dawson Creek.
  • Students may take the majority of their lower division courses from the northern colleges prior to entry into the program.
  • The program normally starts with a new group of students every 2 years.

Bachelor of Science - Integrated
  • This degree is being offered in Terrace and provides a broad science base and integrates more than one area of study.The program allows students to transfer into single-discipline science majors built on a foundation of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, or alternatively to switch from them to the BSc (Integrated).
  • UNBC's Terrace campus offers third and fourth year coursework from three concentrations: Geography (Science) & GIS, Environmental & Earth Sciences and Biology (Aquatic Science emphasis). Northwest Community College provides the first and second year courswork.
  • Courses are delivered via video-conference, web-conference, online and/or face to face.

Bachelor of Science - Environmental Planning, Energy Specialization
  • This degree has been offered in Fort St. John and provides education for environmental planners intending to work in the oil and gas industry as well as in other parts of the energy sector.
  • Northern Lights College provides many of the first and second-year science and technical courses - usually as part of NLC's Land & Resource Management program, while UNBC professors will provide specialized environmental courses at the 3rd and 4th year level.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Designed to meet the needs of northern, rural and First Nations communities, the program focuses on nursing practice in the North.
  • The program has been offered by CNC and UNBC in Quesnel. Students take their first two years at the college and their second two years with UNBC.

Bachelor of Arts - First Nations Studies
  • UNBC partners with other educational institutions and with First Nations to offer courses leading to a certificate, diploma or degree.
  • Examples include programs in the Nass Valley (with the Wilp Wilxo'oskwhl Nisga'a), in Hazelton (with the Siwiixo'osxwim Wilnatahl Gitksan Society)

General Arts
  • Various courses in Anthropology, First Nations Studies, Geography, English, History, Political Science, International Studies, Psychology, and Women's Studies have been offered in many communities, providing course credit for a variety of certificates, diplomas or degrees.
  • Students taking these courses may obtain credit in teachable subject areas for the B.Ed program; gain elective credits for other programs; or gain credit towards a BA General.

Certificates
  • Equivalent to one year of full-time study, offerings have included General First Nations Studies, First Nations Language, and Public Administration. They have been provided in Hazelton, Haida Gwaii, the Nass Valley, Burns Lake and Williams Lake.
  • Certificate completion allows students to progress towards diploma and/or degree programs, which may be offered locally.

Summer Courses
  • Highlighting the unique character of northern BC's communities, these courses focus on local history, geography, languages, and issues, providing an educational experience rarely found in Canada.
  • Many courses are offered in one week or are available on the Web.
