    • Gwaii Haanas, Queen Charlotte Islands. Worked on campsite monitoring and other projects while familiarizing self for visitor orientation project.  

    • Czech Outward Bound School (VSL). Participated in a 2 week  VSL Intertouch program for outdoor/experiential educators. Workshop focused on experiential education utilizing dramatrugy and the “Czech way”

    • Paddling the Big Sky - A 4-month canoe expedition from Hinton, Alberta to Kugluktuk, Nunavut. Rivers traveled included the Athabasca, Slave, Yellowknife, Winter, Starvation and Coppermine.

      Taught for the University of Alberta during the first 5 weeks (1 in Edmonton, 4 on the Athabasca River).

    • Completed doctoral fieldwork in the vicinity of Scott Base/McMurdo Station. Ross Sea region, Antarctica. Previously visited the Antarctic Peninsula and the New Zealand and Australian Sub - Antarctic Islands (Southern Stewart Island, the Snares, Enderby Island, Auckland Island, Campbell Island, and Macquarie Island).
    • Codfish Island (Whenuahau), New Zealand. Worked with the Kakapo (endangered ground parrot) Recovery Programme.
    • Northern Currents 2000 - a 60 day paddling expedition over a series of wilderness rivers of historical significance in the Yukon, NWT, and Alaska (Bonnet Plume, Peel, Mackenzie, Rat, Bell, Porcupine).
      • Attempted to raise awareness and support for the protection of the Porcupine Caribou Herd.
