Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management
|
Are you interested in Outdoor Recreation, Conservation, Nature-based Tourism, Tourism Marketing or Indigenous& Cultural Tourism? Have you ever wanted to study in the midst of one of the World's greatest wilderness regions? The Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management (ORTM) Program is uniquely situated in Northern British Columbia, only a short drive from the Rockies and Cariboo Mountains.

You
can pick the path of study that best suites your interests. We offer
two degree programs within the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism
Management Program. If you are interested in protected areas,
conservation, outdoor recreation or natural resource management --
consider taking a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with a major
in Outdoor Recreation and Conservation.
Perhaps nature-based tourism, tourism marketing or indigenous and cultural tourism interests you more? If
this is the case, follow the path to a Bachelor of Arts in Nature-Based
Tourism or to either of our specialty streams within this degree. |

2nd year ORTM Student Jessie Stephen has received the GIOVANNI CASTELLARIN SCHOLARSHIP FUND (GCSF). This scholarship is intended to assist Yukoners (youth and mature) entering
post-secondary education in the field of Tourism or related studies. |

Graduates of the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management Program can expect to gain employment
in a wide array of fields including: tourism policy and planning;
recreation planning and management at all levels of government;
National and Provincial Parks; and within the commercial tourism
industry. |

The Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management program capitalizes on the unique location of UNBC by offering degree programs which pride themselves on small class sizes, close contact with faculty, and courses which are relevant to recreation and tourism in Northern BC, Canada and on an international scale.
