Message from the Program Chair
The UNBC School of Nursing is one of the leading
programs in the world for preparing nurses, nurse practitioners,
advanced practice nurses, and researchers to work and extend knowledge
and its use in rural, northern and remote communities. The School takes a
practice-driven approach to nursing education and knowledge creation
and its translation. That is, faculty and staff work in close
partnership with Northern Health and with other health authorities and
community agencies, so that our education and research programs are
reality-based and responsive to the needs of northern and rural peoples.
Through our partnerships, students have the opportunity to learn from
experienced teachers, outstanding clinicians, practice leaders and
researchers, who are committed to ensuring that students have the best
possible learning experiences. The School offers programs in Prince
George, Terrace, Quesnel, and online, and draws on a network of
state-of-the-art simulation laboratories and clinical practice
experiences across northern BC. Our students are well prepared,
confident, competent, and keen to engage in interprofessional practice
and lifelong learning.
I invite you to discover more about the UNBC School
of Nursing, and explore how you can begin or further develop a dynamic
and rewarding career in nursing.
