Colloquium Webcasts

NRESI Colloquia can now be watched live via the internet during their regularly scheduled times (normally 3:30 (PST)) on Fridays. Special NRESI Colloquia can also be viewed during their scheduled times. Some points to consider about the broadcast system:
- We are using the Eluminate Live© broadcast, which allows the viewer to see the speaker's slides and hear the audio portion of the seminar. In order to maximize the broadcast speed, there is no camera displaying the person giving the Colloquium.
- To deliver the slides as quickly as possible to you in real time, there is a 5MB Java applicaiton that will be loaded onto your machine the first time you use the Elluminate software -- when accessing the system for the first time from a computer, you should allow yourself about 5 minutes for everything to load in advance of the Colloquium. If you are interested in more details about the Elluminate Live system or to learn how to test your connection before viewing a broadcast, click here.
- If you have questions for the speaker, you can type them into the notebook area and the moderator will attempt to ask your question as part of the question period at the end of the Colloquium. Because only the speaker's microphone is being transmitted to the webcast, we will endeavour to have the speaker repeat audience questions for the web audience.
