Arts & Entertainment
The North is teeming with creativity. The region has several amateur and professional theatre groups and dance studios. Several artists have created their own home studios in the North and the many galleries take advantage of the diverse talent.
Artists of the written, spoken, and musical varieties also thrive here and you can find them in coffee shops, penning their latest works in progress, putting sound and rhythm to their poetry, or living it up in intimate and exhilarating live musical performances. Pair this ripe entertainment with your favourite culinary indulgence, and you've got a great night ahead of you.

Did You Know?

Fort George Park near downtown Prince George has a band shell and lots of green grass to host thousands of fans at its many music festivals.

The Northern Culture
While geography shapes the North, its people give it character. Northern BC is renowned for its friendliness and casual nature. The area is home to one of the largest concentrations of distinct First Nations groups in Canada, including Haida, Carrier, and Nisga’a. Aboriginal art and culture capture the essence of life in the North.
Many people from around the world also choose to call northern BC home, as it affords them a quality of life that can’t be matched in bigger city centres. For many, northern BC offers a truly Canadian experience. To find out more about diversity in the North, visit the Multicultural Heritage Society of PG.
