Movie theatres are located at the Famous Players at Parkwood Place (seven screens) and a Drive-in theatre in the Hart.
Pubs & Clubs
Prince George has a wide variety of pubs perfect for enjoying the
company of your friends or meeting new one. Some pubs that you can
often spot University folks at are: Alfredo's (at the bottom of
Cranbrook Hill), the Alpine (in the Hart Highlands), BX Pub (near
downtown on 5th), Coach's Corner (in the Ramada downtown), College Heights Pub, JJ's Pub (across from CN Centre), Sgt O'Flaherty's (Coast Inn of the North downtown),
and the Tabor Arms Pub.
While the "in" spot seems to rotate on a pretty regular basis, most clubbers can be spotted at these downtown hot spots: Rum Jungle (5th & Dominion), Cadillac Ranch (2nd & Brunswick), and the Ironhorse (on 1st near the Tourist Info Centre).
Shopping
There is a shopping centre in virtually every major neighbourhood in
Prince George, so you are never far from groceries.
Did you know that Prince George has the largest Costco and the largest Canadian Tire in western Canada?
The Canadian Tire is in Westgate in College Heights, which also has a
WalMart and Home Depot; Brookwood Plaza has a Future Shop, Winners,
and the Costco mentioned above; Parkwood Place downtown has Staples, London Drugs, and the Bay; Pine Centre Mall has Sears and
Zellers; and Spruceland Shopping Centre has a Sport Mart and a Shoppers
Drug Mart. Naturally, those shopping centres also have several stores in between. Prince George also has a Real Canadian Superstore.
There are also a few special
interest shops downtown, many of them located on 3rd Ave and 4th Ave. Fourth
Avenue is also known as Specialty Avenue and is
filled with specialty stores that carry everything from
home decor to knitting
