specialized video conferencing services. A dedicated

UNBC - Geoffrey R. Weller Library
The library is home to an extensive collection of books and resources
for medical program students and faculty.
Faculty Development
Faculty development is an important foundation for the medical program,
and although many physicians are experienced teachers, they may not
have worked with medical students in the recent past.
We are developing a faculty development program that is based on what
physicians in the North need and that will help develop teaching
approaches that fit with busy clinical environments. If there are
topics you would like us to address in these sessions, or if you would
like to be invited, contact the NMP office, 250-960-5150.
Teaching Compensation for Clinical Faculty
The compensation provided for teaching will be consistent with the UBC
Faculty of Medicine - however payments related to the NMP will be
administered by the NMP in the form of a stipend.
Time Commitment
The time commitment for teaching will range from delivering a single lecture to serving as a tutor on weekly basis.
Physician Involvement in the Student Selection Process
As the mission of the NMP is to train physicians in the North, for the
North, it is very important to select students who are well suited to
living and working in rural or remote settings.
If you would like to participate, contact the NMP office at (250) 960-5165.
