University Hospital of Northern BC
The University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is northern BC's largest
state-of-the-art healthcare facility. After recently undergoing a $50
million redevelopment, UHNBC's upgraded facility incorporates new
diagnostic and treatment technologies and an attractive new work
environment for physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals. The
hospital plays a key role in clinical instruction of the NMP, in
addition to the family practice residency program.
Other Northern Facilities
Through its collaboration with northern communities, and the Northern
Health Authority, the NMP also utilizes various regional health care
facilities in rural and remote Northern communities. These include
various acute care facilities, long-term care facilities, community
health centres and public health units. Students will also learn
through placements with community-based physicians.
