USE OF MANUAL The manual is arranged so that most colour plates illustrating a disease or parasite are situated on the left side of the book. The corresponding descriptive text commences on the right side of the book, opposite the coloured illustrations. Colour plates are omitted for most parasites and diseases which cannot be identified in the field. The scientific name of each disease and parasite is given as a heading in the left upper corner of the first page of each descriptive text. The common name, when one exists, is in the right upper corner of the same page. A glossary of pathological terms used is present at the back of the manual. IF THERE IS THE SLIGHTEST DOUBT ABOUT THE IDENTITY OF ANY DISEASE OR PARASITE, THE SPECIMEN SHOULD BE FORWARDED TO A DIAGNOSTICIAN FOR EXAMINATION. The paper used in this manual is sufficiently water-resistant to permit cleaning with a damp cloth. |
