William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition

There are various national contests for undergraduate students, including the Putnam Mathematics Competition which is coordinated by Dr. Iliya Bluskov.

Putnam is the most prestigious mathematical competition in North America, open to all students in USA and Canada. UNBC students of very good to excellent standing in math courses are strongly encouraged to register and write the exam in December. There are two sessions (8-11am and 1-4 pm) with a lunch for all participants after the first session. It is possible to write just one session, but then the chances for a good score are reduced. There are money prizes for the top scorers. A good performance adds weight to a graduate application for any mathematics or computer science graduate program. The registration and participation are FREE.

Registration deadline is sometime early October.

Registration and inquiries: Please contact Dr Iliya Bluskov by e-mail at bluskovi"AT"unbc.ca

Further information about preparation for the competition and the competition itself will be distributed by e-mail.
