Degree offerings in Mathematics 

The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics as well as joint B.Sc. degrees with Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, and Physics. 

Math Minor: Our Department offers a Minor in Mathematics. 

Statistics Minor: Our Department offers a Minor in Statistics. 

Masters Degree: An M.Sc. degree is available under the auspices of the MCPS Degree Program.  Please refer to the UNBC Calendar for details.

Mathematical Academic Centre for Excellence (MACE)

Room 10-2088 is available for use by students taking courses with high mathematics content.  The room can be used for working in groups or for getting help from tutors and faculty who are available approximately 20 hours per week. The space is supported by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Learning Skills Centre.

Jobs & Mathematics

Mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries are employed by universities, government, bank and trust companies, insurance companies, pension benefit consulting firms or science and engineering consulting firms.  In the last ten years more and more mathematicians have been employed by computer software companies.    Read More

Putnam Exam Competition

There are various national contests for undergraduate students,  including the Putnam Mathematics Competition, which is coordinated at UNBC by Dr. Iliya Bluskov.


Calculus Challenge Exam
