Brief Biography of Dr. Kumar
Prior to joining UNBC, Dr. Pranesh Kumar was teaching Statistics at
various institutions
namely the Memorial University of Newfoundland, University of Transkei
(South Africa),Bilkent University (Turkey), University of Dar-es-salaam
(Tanzania), University of Rome, Indian Agricultural Statistics Research
Instituite. Besides teaching, Dr. Kumar provided statistical consulting as
well on the statistical design and analysis of research projects and sample
survey studies. After earning an MSc and PhD from the Indian Agricultural
Research Institute, New Delhi, his main areas of interests were teaching
applied statistics and survey methodology, and conducting research in
sample survey methodology. He has over 50 articles in refereed journals, 3
handbooks on sample survey methodology, sample size determination and SAS
applications and 19 research/consultancy reports.
He is a member of the International Statistical Institute and the
Statistical Society of Canada and is serving as referee of the Journal
of Computer and Mathematics Applications, IEEE Computer Society, Journal
of the Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics (editorial board
member), Indian Journal of Mathematics, National Research Council of
South Africa.
