Student Terminal Services

What is Student Terminal Services?

Student Terminal Services, or STS for short, is a method of connecting to your computer account from a remote location, such as your house.  The nice thing about STS is that you can log in to the school remotely to have access to all of the software programs installed on the school computers (with a few differences) and your own personal student H: drive.  You can then work from the comfort of your own home instead of coming up to UNBC to work.

How do I connect to STS?

All new Windows machines have the Remote Desktop Client installed.  Macintosh machines will need to have an RDC Client installed in order to access STS remotely.

Where does my print job go when I print on STS?

You can select any of the GoPrint stations on campus.  Your print job will remain in the queue for up to 3 hours.

Can I print to my home printer while I am using Student Terminal Services (STS)?

If you have a local printer attached to your machine at home, you should see it in your STS session.  If it is not there, we may not have drivers for it
