Forensic anthropology & gender violence

While in Chile to visit family in July 2009, I was invited by forensic anthropologist Dr. Eugenio Aspillaga to speak at the University of Chile about UNBC and my graduate research on femicide in Guatemala.

I also visited the University of Alberto Hurtado to meet with Dra. Elizabeth Lira -- a 2007 guest speaker at UNBC-- who researches the psychological effects of political violence.

Additionally, I was invited by Dra. Alejandra Jiménez (in photo above) for a week-long visit with the Medical Examiner’s Office in Santiago which is run by the Chilean Ministry of Justice.
