PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN EVENT DATE AND SPEAKER!

The UNBC Timberwolves athletic department is pleased to welcome Michael 'Pinball' Clemons, Canadian Football League legend and motivational speaker, to Prince George as the keynote speaker for the 2nd Annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Breakfast.

The breakfast is a major fundraiser in support of scholarships and bursaries for UNBC student athletes. Last year, the event raised more than $40,000.

Tickets are $75 for an individual, and $600 for a table of eight.

Clemons’ topic is Winning Against The Odds, where he engages and inspires audiences with stories from his career while illustrating life’s endless possibilities.

For the second straight year, Canadian Tire will be the presenting sponsor for the event.

Clemons replaces John Herdman, who had to cancel due to unforeseen commitments with the Canadian Soccer Association.

Originally from Dunedin, Florida, Clemons started his professional football career with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs in 1987.

He came to Canada in 1989, spending 12 seasons with the Argonauts as a player before becoming the team’s head coach in 2000, winning three Grey Cups as a player (1991, 1996, and 1997), and another one as coach in 2004.

Clemons was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2008, and his number 31 is one of four retired numbers in Argonauts history.

He is also professional football’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards (rushing, receiving, kick returns and punt returns) with 25,396.

Five-time Olympic medallist Hayley Wickenheiser was the keynote speaker for the inaugural Timberwolves Legacy Breakfast in 2015.
