You are all invited to attend the Move Over Stigma Open Mic Night hosted by the Student Life Leadership Program.

We are planning a mental health awareness event called the “Move Over Stigma: Open Mic Night” on April 2nd at 7:00pm in the Wintergarden. This event is about reducing the stigma of mental health around campus. The proceeds, which are by donation, go towards making the SafeTALK course more affordable, and hopefully free, for people who are interested in taking the course. SafeTALK is a mental health first aid course that teaches participants to be able to recognize the symptoms of people who are at risk for suicide.

We are currently looking for performers and audience members to be a part of our event. The performers can perform any kind of creative work, whether that is poetry, singing, comedy or any other artistic work. Those interested in performing can contact LEAD student Charmaine Roisum at roisum@unbc.ca.
