The University of Northern British Columbia’s Community
Care Centre provides personal counselling to community members in Prince
George and the surrounding area. More
specifically, UNBC’s Clinic offers counselling services to adolescents and
adults who are experiencing interpersonal, emotional, social, and life
transition difficulties.
Qualified Master of Education and Social Work students who are advanced in their
course work and/or are completing their clinical hours provide services with
direct supervision.
Our desire is to be responsive to the needs of our diverse
community while offering a high quality of care.
The purpose of this clinic is
twofold:
To serve the needs of community members in Prince George who
do not have coverage or resources to afford private counselling and whose
issues do not fit the mandate of other service agencies in the community or who
are facing long waitlists.
To serve as training and teaching facility for graduate
students from the UNBC Counselling and Social Work programs
