Maureen has dedicated the
past twelve years of her career to studying and working with postsecondary
students and faculty on teaching and learning strategies as they relate to
disability, diversity and equity. More recently, Maureen has focused her
interests on universal instructional design and accessibility of electronic,
digital and online educational materials using assistive technologies. Maureen
is working on her Ph.D. in the area of cognition, learning and technology and in
her role of Disabilities Advisor, she manages Disability Services at the University of Northern British Columbia. |

Brenda is working on
her degree at UNBC; majoring in Psychology with a focus on cognition and
learning disabilities. Much of her work as the Assistant in Disability Services
involves working one-to-one with students to help them with study skills and
assistive technologies. Brenda came to Disability Services with an extensive
background in the medical field having worked as a Medical Office Assistant in
Prince George
for many years. She has a special interest in social justice and has provided
assistance to the local homeless community for over a
decade. |
