Counselling Services

  Are you in Crisis?

 
When in crisis it is very important that we not put off getting the help that we need. Crises include situations like experiencing or witnessing violence or other traumatic events, loss, suicidal thoughts, etc.

Below is a list of phone numbers and web sites for people who are living with crisis and want to access help.

On-Campus Crisis Resources:

The counsellors at Counselling Services are available to see students in crisis Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm to see students in crisis. You don’t need to make an appointment. Please call the number above, or just come in to Counselling Services. Priority is given to students in crisis.

First Nations Centre

The First Nations Centre offers counselling and crisis response through an on staff counsellor. Support for crisis can also be sought through the Peer Support Network. The Peer Support Network are students who have had training in peer counselling.

If you are experiencing a crisis during hours that Counselling Services is not open, UNBC Security may be able to help. You can call Security at the number above, or just go to the security station in the Agora.
