Continuing Studies - How to Register

Student Profile
New Online Registrants
To
register online with Continuing Studies, you must create a student
profile. Your student profile includes your full legal and
preferred name, your contact information and additional information
that will help us serve you better. On successful creation of your
profile, you will beprovided with a student ID and asked to create a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
Returning Online Registrants
If your last online registration was BEFORE November 21, 2007:
You must create a new student profile (see New Online Registrants above).
If you have regsitered online AFTER November 21, 2007:
You should already have a student ID and PIN. To access your account and register for courses, please log in with either:
- Your email address and PIN
- Your student number and PIN
Current UNBC Academic Students
If you are a current UNBC student enrolled in an academic program of
study, you will already have a Continuing Studies student profile. You
may log in to Continuing Studies using the same student number and PIN
as you do for all other UNBC online student services.

Online Registration
*NEW* UNBC Continuing Studies is please to introduce our new Shopping Cart functionality.
Once
you have found course(s) of interest, you need only click on the
Shopping Cart icon to add the course to your shopping cart. You may
register for multiple courses in one transaction, and add or remove
courses from your Shopping Cart at any time.
You
will have limited time to complete your registration. Once you have
added a course to your Shopping Cart, no one else will be able to fill
that seat, unless your final transaction is unsuccessful or not
completed within the time alloted.
To complete your registration, proceed to the "Checkout" and enter your payment information.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- You can only register yourself online. If you need to register another individual, please consider an alternative registration method as outlined below.
- Students who are GST exempt may only register online for courses
available for credit. Students who are GSt exempt must register for
non-credit courses using one of the alternative registration methods
below.
- Individuals must have a unique and valid email address (one email
address will work for only one individual). Consider using a free email
such as Yahoo or Hotmail if you only have one email address for
multiple people. Or contact us by phone to register.
- Online registrations can be made using Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Registration Process:
WAIVER
UNBC Continuing Studies accepts no responsibility in the event any
course or workshop is either cancelled or not completed as a result of
strikes, lockouts, fire, acts of God, or any other cause beyond the
control of the department.
UNBC Continuing Studies reserves the right to change or amend its
programs, instructors, fee structure, and regulations at any time from
those published.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Early registration is strongly recommended as class sizes are limited
to ensure a quality educational experience. Registrations are not
secured without payment.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
A registration deadline for all individual courses is listed for
individual courses in the catalog, a minimum of 10 calendar days prior
to the course start. This date affects withdrawals, course transfers
and course cancellations. Students may register after this date for
courses that have sufficient enrollment and seats available.
COURSE FEES
Fees are payable at the time of registration. Post-dated cheques
are not accepted. NSF cheques must be replaced with a certified cheque
or cash; a charge of $25 will be levied for each NSF cheque. Fees are
payable by cheque, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Cash or Debit. Goods & Services Tax (GST) is applicable to all
course fees.
COURSE CANCELLATIONS
A minimum number of registrations must be received by the registration
deadline listed in the catalog. If there is not sufficient registration
in a course by the listed date, the course will be cancelled. Should a
course be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or other reasons, a
full refund will be processed and sent automatically to any
registrants.
CONFIRMATIONS
Confirmations will be distributed when enrollment has been met or
five (5) days prior to the course start date by phone or email. Details will include class times, room numbers, what to bring and directions with maps of the campus. Please be sure to include your daytime contact phone number and/or valid email address on your registration form.
TRANSFERS
Course registration may be transferable from one participant to
another. Please consult UNBC Continuing Studies for clarification.
Transfers will not be accepted after a course has started.
WITHDRAWALS
Notification of withdrawal must be made by telephone, email, fax or
letter. Voice mail is not considered an adequate method of
notification.
Withdrawals will be in accordance with the following refund policy:
10 calendar days before the course starts: FULL REFUND
Less than 10 calendar days before the course starts: NO REFUND
Exceptions are made on compassionate grounds. In such cases, a written
request for refund (letter, fax or email) must be submitted prior to
the end of the course or workshop. Exceptional refunds may be issued as
full or partial refunds either in the method of original payment or by
UNBC Continuing Studies gift certificate.
Under no circumstances will refunds be granted for requests received after the end of a course or workshop.
