Official UNBC Heraldic Symbols 

 

All official UNBC heraldic symbols (Coat of Arms, Shield/Crest, Flag, Badge) may be used only on legal and/or ceremonial documents, such as student transcripts and parchments.  They are never to be used for promotional or advertising purposes, or as a substitute for the official UNBC logo.  Due to the strict usage policy on the official UNBC heraldic symbols, you must first consult with the Office of Communications if you wish to access the downloadable files.

General Rules for UNBC Logo Usage

Do:

• Determine if you are allowed to use the logo
  Download a copy of the official policy that governs the use of UNBC names and symbols.
 
• Use the proper file format
  Click here to find out which file format you should be using.
 
• Ensure there is a sufficient blank space surrounding the logo at all times
  Each logo has a minimum amount of surrounding blank space, which can be found in the Graphic Standards Manual. Any elements, including page edges, should not encroach into the minimum space.
 
• Follow UNBC's Official Graphic Standards Manual
  You can download a copy of the Graphic Standards Manual in PDF format for your reference. You can also obtain a full-colour, printed copy through the Office of Communications.
  
• Ask if you have any questions or are unsure about how to use official UNBC logos

Do Not:

• Distort the logo in any way, shape or form
  This includes:
  • changing the text
  • altering the proportions of the logo (use proper resizing methods)
  • re-positioning any of its elements
  • adding any borders, text, or any other elements to the logo
  
  
• Alter the color of the logo
  Each logo has been assigned specific colors. You can download the logo in the available color of your choice.
  
• Use the logo as part of a title or a sentence
