In addition to teaching in the School of Business on  investments, corporate finance and resource management, Dr. Chen is focused on research around the physical foundation of economics and social sciences.  He first presented his 'analytical thermodynamic theory' in July 2000 challenging the current economic thinking.  After updating his theory in April 2002 his work cullminated into his frequently reviewed and cited book, The Physical Foundation of Economics: An Analytical Thermodynamic Theory, published in 2005.  Dr. Chen continues to refine his 'analytical thermodynamic theory' and applys it to different fields, mainly in the area of finance.
