Student Awards

Dustin King won the First place - Organic Division prize for his poster ($50 award prize):  "CD44 mRNA-CRD-BP Interaction". At the Western Canadian Undergraduate Chemistry Conference May 7-9, 2009.

Chris Uy won Honorable Mention for his poster "Identification of C99S as an important residue in RNA binding of APE1", At the Loon Lake Cell Biology Conference May 7-9, 2009 ($100 prize)

Graduate Fellowships 

The Michael Smith Foundation honoured two UNBC students this week at a ceremony to celebrate award recipients. Tara Wong and Paul Kahlke received graduate fellowships recognizing their work in chemistry.

 

In other news, Liz Dunn and Amy Hayduk, will be traveling with bio chemistry prof. Stephen Rader to Berlin in August to present their research at the international meeting of the RNA Society. 


 
 
 
 

In the 1st Annual 2007 Northern BC “A Healthier You Awards” held on Friday Nov 16, the Research Award Category was awarded to grad student, Dan Sparanese, Dr. Chow Lee, and a team of students from UNBC for their cancer research
