The UNBC
Survey Research Centre (SRC) offers a number of research services including telephone and web surveys and transcription services. The SRC conducts efficient, accurate, and comprehensive health, health care and social sciences research in rural, remote, and northern communities.
We operate on a cost-recovery basis and employ highly qualified trained undergraduate and graduate student researchers to help you collect and transcribe high quality research data efficiently. We can assist you with your entire research project, from the survey design to the reporting of your study results.
The SRC maintains a server and ten interviewing stations on-site at UNBC, as well as telephones for conducting telephone surveys that will provide primary data in population health, health services, and social sciences research. It uses Sawtooth Technologies' WinCati software on a local area network. Our system can accommodate a number of questionnaire item designs including multiple response, randomized lists, open-ended and conditional responses.
Here is a list of the core research services the SRC currently offers:
Research data collection
Computer-assisted telephone surveys
Web surveys - web or e-mail (data is stored on a Canadian server)
Reporting packages (regular updates provided to clients during fieldwork; final reporting package includes methodology & study administration report, response rates, codebook, and clean data set prepared to client specifications)
